Hannah Strocel (she/her) is an emerging Métis illustrator and storyteller residing on the unceded traditional territories of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem) Nation. She is currently completing her BFA in Illustration at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, which is located on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
Her work is heavily inspired by the natural beauty she grew up around, old folklore stories, and a use of traditional materials. Through her playful images she hopes to hone a balance between history, place, and nature.
